Thomas Kgokolo CA (SA) MBA: Founder and Board Chairperson


Mr Thomas Kgokolo CA (SA), assumed the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer of the South African Airways SoC from April 2021 and was responsible for transitioning the airline out of business rescue. Currently he is the CEO of Finequity Pty Ltd, a company responsible for business turnarounds and finance strategies of business. Mr. Kgokolo has extensive senior management experience, having been CEO at both Air Traffic Navigation Services and South African Airways. He has more than 10 years’ experience at a Non-Executive Director level.


He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), where he is also an award-winning lecturer in finance and strategy. He is currently studying towards PHD in business turnarounds strategies. Mr. Kgokolo, is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including, attaining the Top MBA student in Leadership and Accountability Award in 2017 and more noteworthy he was honoured with the Emerging Leader Award by the University of South Africa’s School of Business Leadership in 2018.

 

In 2021, he was awarded top public sector CEO by ABASA. He was previously Chief Financial Officer at the Competition Commission of South Africa. Some of his current roles is that of Board Chair at Mineworkers Provident Fund and Non-Executive Director at Sizwe-Hosmed Medical Fund


Linda Maqoma  : Advisory Board Member


Linda Maqoma is a seasoned accountant with over 15 years experience in the audit and accountancy space in both the private and public sector stemming from her roles at Xolani Phumeza & Associates and later KPMG South Africa. She holds a Bachelor in Commerce (Accounting) Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Fort Hare - Nkuhlu Department of Accounting. Linda completed her South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) accredited articles at KPMG Johannesburg. She stayed on as an audit manager in Financial Services before establishing her consulting company, Nomatshawe Group, in 2020. Linda is a Fellow of the 4th Class of the Young African Leadership Initiative - South Africa (ALI - YL), an extension of the Aspen Global Leadership Network fellowship. Linda has an inherent passion for business, people, development and transformation.


Thabang Mashigo:  Advisory Board Member


BA (POLS & IR), BA Honours (IR) & MA Public  Policy & Energy Leadership (RK Switzerland)


Thabang is a highly sought after Facilitator, Think Tank and Business Strategist with almost 10 years of service to the industry. She has served as an Advisor to the Zambian Energy Council and High Commissioner as well as the Malawian Consulate. Furthermore, Mashigo is a former speech writer to the South African Presidency and selected Ministers in Parliament . Thabang has represented Africa on global platforms such as, The Wall Street Project with Rev Jesse Jackson in New York, BRICS, the United Nations (UNCOPUS), ACP (African Carribean Pacific Group and the AU in discussion of Africa’s business and trade policies .


She was instrumental in the formation of the Africa's Free Trade Continental Agreement with the Department of Trade and Industry. She remains ardent about business development and training, having accrued expertise and developed content for sectors in mining, agriculture, solar energy, leadership, mental health and corporate governance. Thabang is the current Executive Director of Altitude Connection (corporate training and skills development).
